Picture from the first part of Marvel's birthday celebrations!

The past weekend the staff and customers at Nostalgia & Comics held a celebration for the 70th birthday of the comics publisher Marvel.  This was also to unveil the great re-fit that the store has been undergoing for the last couple of weeks.  Below are some of the photographs taken on the day!

Marvel's 70th Birthday Party

On the 27th June Nostalgia and Comics will celebrate Marvels 70th Birthday. All of the staff will be in fancy dress and anyone, both kids and adults alike will recieve a goodie bag if they turn up in fancy dress!

Write a two side A4 story about any Marvel character

Kids take part in the Marvel Quiz – starts at 11:00

...And the winner of the Marvel Treasure map will be announced!

Some love from the proud parents

The people who own Nostalgia & Comics (Forbidden Planet International) gave the store some publicity on their blog today with a discussion about the recent free comic book day that the staff held at the store.

The staff on the day got involved by dressing up as some of their favourite superheroes and villains with some hard work going into the costumes! All in all the day was very much a success and we understand why some stores do not get involved in FCBD at all due to the fact it isn't free but considering the store had a flurry of people through the doors first thing in the morning, with a lot of them never having read a comic book before we think the benefits outweigh the costs. Surprisingly the first one to go completely was the "Love & Rockets" title from the day.
